The name ‘rapeseed’ comes from the Latin word rapum meaning, turnip. Rapeseed or Colza is a plant from the Mustard plant family which is not edible and it is used for industrial purposes.
It is documented that in the 13th century people were using the oil of this plant for oil lamps. World War II caused a high demand for the oil as a lubricant for the rapidly increasing number of steam engines in naval and merchant ships.
🥃 What is Canola oil?
Rapeseed oil extracts were first put on the market in 1956–1957 as food products, but these suffered from several issues like high concentration of erucic acid.
Canola which is genetically modified was derived from rapeseed in Canada in the early 1970s So they called it Canola or even Canada oil.
❌ Rapeseed oil is highly toxic. It is used as a pesticide, in the soap-making industry, tire-making industry and for making glossy paper.
❌In the long term, consuming this oil can cause severe issues in the body, such as anemia, constipation, breathing issues, short temper and even vision disorders both in humans and animals.
This oil can interfere with our metabolism. Research in the UK has shown that the consumption of this plant for animals like cows makes them wild and even bees that feed on the flower for honey-making become wild.
The oil is high in trans fatty acids and it is carcinogenic. It usually takes 10 years after consuming this oil to see the side effects and the symptoms of diseases!
Islamic medicine experts believe that Colza, rapeseed oil or canola oil are the worst GMO oils and they are one of the main causes for cancers and high cholesterol in the body.
