Diabetes in Islamic Medicine

  • Uncategorized

🔶 According to Western medicine, diabetes is defined as a disease in which the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood.
Whilst in Western medicine the cause of diabetes is known to be a disorder of the immune system and external causes such as viruses and infections, in Islamic medicine diabetes can have different reasons as well.

🔶 Diabetes type 1 is due to coldness and malfunction of the adrenal glands.
The adrenal glands are positioned on top of the kidneys and have a very important role in the body. Interestingly, their function is based on a person’s level of hope!
The more positive a person’s outlook of the future is, the better the glands function and release insulin normally.
So type 1 stems mostly from underlying nervous and emotional reasons whilst type 2 is due to the coldness of the pancreas. This is usually caused by drinking excess water over a long period of time or having too many cold-natured foods as these make the abdomen cold.

💊Treatments:
Warming up organs such as the pancreas that have gone cold is the cure for type 2 diabetes and working on a person’s mind and giving them hope, good news, new atmosphere (like outdoor trips etc.), giving them respect (especially elder men and women who are disabled and feel despondent).
At the same time there are some recommended beneficial foods and medicines as listed below:
👉🏼Barley sawiq
👉🏼Qande bala
👉🏼Qande zard, etc.
(These are now all available on our website.)

💡Last note: if you have parents who suffer from diabetes, especially type 1, try to give them the best of news, respect and they also should have peace rather than stress.
🌹📖🌹 As the holy Quran says: “And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: “My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.”
